SeeDVR ("the app") lets you view and locally record your own CCTV cameras connected to a DVR/NVR you control. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

The short version

• The app does not send your video, snapshots, credentials, or recordings to us or to any third-party server. They stay on your device and travel only to your own DVR.
• We (the developer) operate no cloud, no account system, and no analytics/telemetry.
• The free version shows ads via Google AdMob, and offers a one-time "Remove ads" purchase via Google Play Billing. These Google services process some data as described below.

Data you enter and it stays on your device

• DVR connection settings (address, port, channels, RTSP URL template) and your DVR username/password are stored only on your device. The password is encrypted using an Android Keystore key that never leaves the device.
• Video, snapshots and recordings are shown/kept locally in the app's private storage and are deleted when you uninstall the app. Recordings you explicitly share leave the app only to the destination you choose.
• Video and control traffic goes directly between your device and your DVR (over your LAN or a VPN you configure). It does not pass through us.

Advertising (free version) — Google AdMob & UMP consent

The free version displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process data such as device identifiers, approximate/coarse information and ad-interaction signals, per Google's own policies. In regions where it applies (e.g. the EU/EEA/UK), the app shows a consent request via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before requesting ads, and your choice is respected. See Google's policies: Google Advertising and Google Privacy Policy. Buying "Remove ads" stops ad requests.

Purchases — Google Play Billing

The optional "Remove ads" purchase is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details; Google processes the transaction.

Permissions the app uses and why

• Internet / network state — to reach your DVR and (free version) load ads.
• Foreground service (special use) + notifications — to keep recording your cameras while the app is in the background, with an ongoing notification you can stop.
• Biometric — optional lock so only you can open the live view and recordings.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data. The only third parties involved are Google (AdMob, UMP, Play Billing) for the functions above, and only to the extent needed to provide them.

Your responsibilities (surveillance & GDPR)

You are the controller of your own footage. If your cameras capture areas beyond your private property (e.g. public spaces or neighbours), additional legal obligations may apply under the GDPR and local law (signage, retention limits, data-subject rights). The app shows an in-app reminder about this; it is not legal advice.

Children

The app is not directed at children and is intended for the owner/operator of a CCTV system.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change. Material changes will be reflected in the app listing.
